HISTORY ;;

Terrance was raised in a large, poor, but very loving family in a small fishing village in Megam. He learned to read very early, and large family did their best to support him with the few books they owned and the little knowledge they had. He soaked up everything given to him and longed for more. He had great faith in the Dragons, and more than anything, he wanted to be in their service, both because of his strong faith, and because of the opporunity it would give him to learn more and more.

His parents wanted this for him more than anything, so, even though it was hard for them to let him go, they took him to the nearest city when he was 15 to enter the clergy. The first months spent there were absolute bliss for him as he learned as much as he could and became a favoured pupil of the clergy there. So great was the respect and responsibility he earned in the church that he was given the duty to watch over Sister Maire, the new prodigy who "just needed some help getting settled in."

And so Terrance's perfect world crashed to an end. Keeping eye on a willful, bitter, sulky sister who would do everything she could to upset things took up all of his time, leaving no chance for him to grow. Worse, Maire's personality clashed so with his that his most childish nature came out, making his superiours suddenly doubt his maturity.

When Maire ran away from the convent, Terrance was sent along with a small contigent of priests to reclaim her and prove he did not allow her to escape. He began to see a different side of her as he was fascinated by how alive and happy she seemed in her natural world. Being forced to bring her back to a place he now saw clearly she did not belong changed something, and he became fascinated with that rare side Maire.

They had a rocky hot and cold relationship for some time while working together within the church, but it all suddenly changed when they discovered that Maire has been recommended for a surprising promotion -- moving right through "priestess" status, directly to "high priestess." This future for her did not involve Terrance, and so he found himself accompanying the lords, retainers, and entourage of House Franel to the Island of Papan before returning home --

-- only to find that he would be doing no such thing. In yet another surpising promotion, Terrance was suddenly promoted to full priest at the recommendation of Sister Freya and Father Eron. There were hidden reasons for this promotion that had nothing to do with Terrance's bright nature. He was to act as the Church's arm in the Franel situation, a constant spy, reporting back to Father Eron and Sister Freya with all their movements and accomplishments, and so he found himself walking around Eire at their heels.

Terrance has spent a year acting as a poor spy for the church in this group. Slowly he's beginning to fit in, and, more importantly, to grow up.



PERSONALITY ;;

Terrance is an fairly uncomplicated person. While once he tried to spruce his language up to seem intelligent and educated, he has learned that he can't be something he's not, and as such, he speaks in plain terms, and presents himself as an unassuming normal person.

He has low self esteem and looks to others, especially women, to improve it. He develops feelings for women who pay attention to him and say nice things to him, regardless of any actual compatability. This has gotten him into trouble on multiple occassions, as when the attention wanes, so does his interest.

Earnest is, in general, a good word to describe Terrance. Despite the fact that bad luck seems to follow him like a thundercloud, and the fact that he wallows in self pity when that lightning strikes, he always means well and wants to do the best he can with the tools he's been given.

As he usually seems useless and somewhat pathetic, others are surprised at the rare times when Terrance reveals he's actually a brilliantly intelligent young man with quick problem solving skills and a solid head on his shoulders.

As time goes on, Terrance has slowly matured from a sulky teenager to a well-grounded adult. While he's still flighty and enjoys feeling sorry for himself, this has faded in the face of greater maturity.



APPEARANCE ;;

Terrance has brown hair that falls to his shoulders, and brown eyes. His build is slight, but he's grown quite tall in recent years. He's very, very plain in apperance, having nothing memorable about him except his height.
